What do we think of this?

I *believe* and could be completely wrong, that this was the "swimsuit" featured in the little yellow LookBook that went out earlier this year. I don't have the LookBook in front of me, but want to say that this was on one of the first pages and looked rather cute on the model. My question is, what do we think of this, for real beach romping?

J.Crew Rose Vines Romper, $125

I'm inclined to think it's pretty cute and I like the overall look. But my concern is that the way it looks here in the photo above and the way it appears as part of "Jenna's Picks" looks completely different at the legs. "Jenna's Picks," as well as the LookBook, show this piece to have romper-like legs.

Hmm... I'm personally on the fence, from the pics. I think it's a cute suit. I loved it in the LookBook but I just don't know how this would translate IRL. Has anyone seen it? Tried it?

  1. I have not seen it or tried it, but I do love the print. I don't think it would look very good on me.

  2. I love the print too, I think it also comes in a dress that I definitely want. They kept calling this a romper but shouldn't it have more short like bottoms?

  3. I think the style could be cute. I'm not as fond of the print. There are other swimsuits that i like better.

  4. Kathy, Thank you about the award!!! I have to get off my butt and do the post. I'll do that soon. Thanks for thinking about me!!!

Summer, I think a romper should too... so I'm worried if I order this it's going to be one of those "This thing looks nothing like the effing pic on the website" teaching moments. lol. I do think the print is sweet!

Cleo, me too - I just remember the pic in the lookbook and thinking how romantic the whole styling was. But we all can't walk around styled the way J.Crew would like us (It's like Joey from friends when he piled on ALL of Chandler's clothes). It was one of the few pics I did really like that from lookbook. Hmm. I'd have to see it up close and personal to really say.

  5. I thought it was the same peice, too, Marisa.

Ummm, I personally am opposed to this style. But beyond my personal preferences, I'm concerned that when the romper/suit is wet, the sagging is going to be quite unflattering...

  8. I love the suit, but I'm a little confused by the whole "romper" name too... What IS this, J.Crew?!
