It's Official - I'm hopping on the crazy train.

Note: This may be a little of a rant, but it must be said!

This is the Jaspe Sequined Slouchy Sweatshirt that I am so desperate to have, I've just inquired with a Personal Shopper-slash-Mysterious-Clothing-Sleuth to find it for me, Sherlock Holmes style. Adding to the list, I've asked her to locate a Bistro mini in Black and the Sequined Starland Tank in Navy that I'd get a chance to wear before next summer. What is up with the inventory levels this year, J.Crew? I feel like we've been reading Goldilocks just one too many times. You know, last year's inventory levels were much too high, and the company's stock price suffered for that (as well as us fashionistas, seeing the same old tired thing in Final Sale again and again). This year, there's just not enough inventory to go around and we are all seeing the dreaded Waitlist pop up. I want a happy medium! Is that so much to ask for? Mah goodness! Must I call in the Personal Shopping peeps just so I can get my grubby paws on a sequin or two?

Ok. I feel a little better now.

  1. Best of luck getting those grubby paws on some sparkle!! I know Dina has just been thrilled by some of the finds her PS has nabbed.

  3. Hi, there. I was thrilled that the PS found me my Sparkle!!! :) But I will tell you...what is up? It seems J. Crew goes from thousands and thousands of items to tens and tens. Weird.

You want to know when the Jaspe I purchased in a size small is going to ship? April. Yes, April. Hmm...better late than never, but still.

The sparkle HeidiG. refers to? The stardust pencil skirt, which you, lucky lady, own (it looks FANTASTIC on you, too).

I sized up in the skirt in order to buy it, so I guess there may be a nip and tuck in my future.

You know what I am also stalking for a popback? The tweed mini-bag and the champagne fizz necklace. I feel like a weirdo every morning putting the words "champagne" and "tweed" in their search engine. :)

  7. I have also been searching down the sequin Jaspe. My PS told me before they were sold out when he checked but that was when it first became available and it sold out in just a couple days. He said they made very little of them. Now there may have beens returns and such but like Tres Tippy I really want it but haven't been vigilant because I really don't want to spend the money on it right now. It's absolutely beautiful though. If you do get it please post IRLs!

  8. I so sweat that sequins sweatshirt. I'm so serious that that shit was sold out like before the catalogue hit the mail. Sometimes, I think J.Crew is run by evil geniuses. I love that you and other diehards stalk items via personal shoppers. I didn't know J. Crew did that.

OMG. Your vacay is so close. You must be dying.

  9. I saw this sweater on a SA over the weekend and it looked really cute with her toothpick cords. Maybe all these SAs are buying with their 60% off discounts and so we don't have much chance to buy them...what I will do with those discounts!
Hope your PS will fine one soon for you!

  10. Ladies, you are too fabulous for all the comments. I hope none of you are offended that I only answer NOW but I'm on Tokyo Standard Time which puts me exactly on the opposite side of the world from most of you. It's 6:49 over here, I've just gotten home from a beat-down at the BX (there is NO mall) and I'm tired and need a glass of wine. But I'm sooo happy to see that peeps like you, my girl Dina, have enlisted the help of PS's to do the hunting. & I love that so many of you have the same taste and think this is not so strange that I heart a sweat shirt...with sequins. J.Crew is totally run by evil geniuses and yes, totally, the SAs are so using their 60% off and first dibs opportunities to make our lives miserable. Have a good night, y'all!

  11. Love your blog. My PS found the Jaspe so keep the faith. It's adorable and the perfect weight but delicate due to the sequins and the stitching. It makes anything you wear look special, while still being casual. I wear it almost every weekend with black & white stripe tee, the J. Crew Heirloom Flora in clear, broken in jeans and black J. Crew flat boots - sorry forgot the name of the boots. I suggest wearing a tee under so you don't have to wash it as often - again , it's delicate.

  12. laceysiegel, thanks for stopping by and the outfit advice! I'm on vacay but it looks like my PS found the sweater. Only issue is I'm wondering did I respond in time to her and now she's out of the office! bad timing...
